The journey of Lucky Star Moving began in 2004, when Edward Smith, driven by the idea of helping people through one of life’s most stressful events — moving — decided to start a small relocation company with one truck, a handful of equipment, and a strong work ethic. With no ambitions to conquer the entire industry, Edward Smith focused instead on trust, consistency, and quality in every job taken on.

Key Milestones

2004: Initially focused on local moves. Small team, single truck, basic packing and transport. Growth came through repeat clients.
2010: Packing, unpacking, and short-term storage were added to meet client demand and reduce move delays.
2015: Started working with small businesses. Introduced structured training and scheduling. Increased crew size and added basic inventory systems.
2018: Implemented item insurance for all moves. Formalized staff onboarding, reduced handling damage, improved equipment use.
2020: Shifted to virtual estimates and digital payments. Maintained operations under health restrictions. No layoffs.
2022: Launched online booking, tracking, and digital docs. Replaced disposable materials with reusable packing kits.
2024: Operating in several cities with internal teams only. Services include residential, office, and limited specialty moves. Insurance, storage, and packing services included by default.
